Anna's Birth

We met Alisa about 6 years ago and she quickly became part of our family.  Alisa took care of our three girls once a week for about 2 1/2 years.  Chris (husband) and I would go on a date-with three little ones at home, we quickly realized that it was easy to overlook each other.   All three girls adored Alisa.  She would bring projects for them every week and even had them make Christmas gifts for us-so sweet (we still have them!).  We lost touch until this past June when I received an email saying that she was pregnant and would like some newborn pictures taken after her delivery.
(I had been writing out my photography goals over the winter and photographing a birth was at the top of my list!)
Dear Alisa-Newborn pictures.....what about BIRTH pictures??!!
Thankfully Alisa and Matt said "yes" to my being in the room for Anna's Birth!
Thank you Alisa, Matt and Anna for sharing your AMAZING BIRTH with me!

Senior Session at Audubon in Falmouth, Maine

Abby and I scheduled her session on a gorgeous July summer night a few weeks ago.  True to Maine weather, we had to wait out a summer thunder storm-but then the skies cleared and we were left with absolutely stunning evening light
I'm so happy that we did not cancel because we had an amazing time together!
Abby's session was at the Audubon in Falmouth, Maine.  It is a beautiful location with so many backdrop options.  The wildflowers were in their full glory!  One hilarious thing happened when Abby was sitting among the tall grass surrounded by flowers (image 4, 5 & 6)-a group of hikers saw me and what looked like me taking pictures of the ground....because of the tall grass, they did not see Abby.  When the gentleman inquired what I was taking pictures of, he seemed surprised that there was indeed, another person in front of me!
Note to self: Next time I'm at the Audubon-Wear TONS of bug spray!  The mosquito may be the new Falmouth Audubon bird!  Just kidding :)

Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!

My Girls' Photo Session
One year I am going to do an "out-take" Christmas Card.

Getting my three girls together, with coordinating outfits and pleasant smiles on their faces is nearly impossible.  Yes, we always have a good time together, Yes-they entertaining and funny, Yes-they show their true selves and characters but most of the time, two are smiling and one is making a funny face, or pouting or worse...crying.  This year I set up my studio in the middle of my living room, put some hip hop music on, added accessories and let them go crazy.  500 pictures later (I'm not joking)  I finally found a few that were Christmas Card worthy.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
Love-
The Peterson Girls!

Cunningham/Ordway Family Session 8/2013

What have I been up to?  It's Fall so that means....FAMILY SESSIONS!!

I met the Cunningham/Ordway Family on an island in Yarmouth, Maine
This family had a lot of great energy!  Some of their candids are my all time favorites.  The one of the
2-year old being thrown up in the air, the pic of the two girls running with absolute determination on their faces, the babies expression with her beautiful blue eyes, the b&w of the mom holding her daughter with her legs up, grandpa with his four granddaughters(!), the pic of all the girls in the family laughing together-LOVE these images!
